An ex-coalmining commune, now a light industrial and farming town, Henin Carvin is situated about 14 miles (22.5 km) northeast of Lens, Pas-de-Calais, France.

The project to create a Major Urban Park on an industrial wasteland was aimed to provide the perfect opportunity to create a new urban polarity by actively integrating this park into the unstructured and sprawling fabric of mining estates and by encouraging new developments that will create a balance between built and natural elements and the local environment.

One of the development phases of this project was to incorporate a geo-location interactive mobile app as a tour guide to the former mining sites and it was our mission to document it's operative effectiveness onsite.
